Staff shortages in hospitality industry is not just a buzzword. htr<\/a>, the newspaper of Swiss Hotel Assocication wrote mid October about staff shortage in the industry before start of the winter season. <\/span><\/span>Many hotels are struggling to fill all positions in time.<\/span><\/span> This once again highlights the extent to which the Swiss hotel industry relies on workers from the EU.<\/span><\/span> Perhaps it’s finally time for the Swiss authorities to allow at least pilot projects involving employees from third countries, for the benefit of our industry.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For over 10 years, Swiss Hospitality Academy has been committed to addressing the staff shortage in the hotel industry through its Stagiaires<\/a> program. We have established a network of over 130 schools in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Latvia, which entrust us with students for internships in Switzerland. In Switzerland, we have active partnerships with over 50 hotels and restaurants that regularly complete their staff with our interns, giving them the opportunity to gain real-world professional experience. Often, the students return for the following season, which is increasing the benefits for our partners. As an educational institution, however, we are not simply a traditional recruitment agency. We are dedicated to ensuring the success of our placements. Therefore, we conduct a two-week intensive course with our students before they begin their work in the hotel industry. In this course, we teach essential German language skills, Swiss service standards, and explain the menu and beverage offerings of the host establishment. As genuine service providers, we also handle the administrative formalities for the contract and work permit for our partner companies.<\/p>\n

While our Stagiaires<\/a> program is one of our products. But to be quite honest, it’s not a quick path to richness.<\/span><\/span> Rather, it’s a passion project of mine \u2013 I love giving young people opportunities, and it always makes me incredibly happy and a little proud when I visit a business and an employee approaches me who completed our Program in Switzerland in one of the previous seasons.<\/span><\/span> Would you like to learn more about this great offer?<\/span><\/span> Don’t hesitate to contact<\/a> me directly.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
